About Rebate Atlas
Rebate Atlas is a free, independent guide to U.S. home energy incentives. We track the federal, state and utility programs that help pay for heat pumps, insulation, water heaters, solar, batteries and EV chargers, and explain them in plain language with links to the official source.
Last reviewed: October 22, 2026.
Why we built it
Energy incentives are scattered across IRS rules, 50 state energy offices and thousands of utilities, and they change often. In 2025 the One Big Beautiful Bill Act ended several federal credits early: the 25C home improvement credit and the 25D clean energy credit for work after December 31, 2025, and the 30C EV charger credit after June 30, 2026 (IRS FAQ). Many websites still advertise those credits. We built Rebate Atlas so you can see, in one place, what is actually available for your home today.
What you will find here
- 51 state guides (all 50 states plus D.C.) covering state programs, the status of the federal HOMES and HEAR rebates, weatherization help and where to apply.
- Upgrade guides for heat pumps, insulation, water heaters, solar, batteries, EV chargers and more.
- Program explainers such as HEAR, HOMES, the Weatherization Assistance Program, stacking rebates and 2026 deadlines.
- An AI assistant that answers questions about your situation using the same current facts. It explains, it doesn’t decide eligibility, and it points you to the official program.
Where our information comes from
We rely on primary sources: IRS guidance and forms, the U.S. Department of Energy, the NASEO Home Energy Rebates tracker (for HOMES and HEAR launch status), state energy office websites, utility tariff and rebate pages, and the DSIRE database. Every program card links to its official page. When a figure cannot be verified, we say so instead of guessing.
How we keep it current
- We review federal changes as the IRS and DOE publish them and date-stamp pages when we update them.
- HOMES and HEAR status on state pages reflects the NASEO tracker as of September 30, 2026.
- Rebate funding can run out or pause without notice, so we tell you who to confirm with before you start work.

What we are not
Rebate Atlas is not a government agency, a tax advisor or a contractor. We don’t process applications or guarantee eligibility. For tax questions, talk to a tax professional; for program approval, the program administrator decides. See our Disclaimer.
How the site is funded
Rebate Atlas is free and requires no account. We may show ads and may earn referral commissions from some partner links in the future. Today, links to outside companies are plain links with no tracking codes. Money never changes which programs we list or what the AI says about them. Details are in our Affiliate Disclosure and Privacy Policy.
